Over the course of the last few years our standard Malta QROPS plan has been the STM Malta Retirement Plan. This plan is still very much open for business, however the number of members of this plan has grown considerably and as a responsible trustee, we believe it would be prudent to open a new scheme to avoid having an unlimited number in one particular scheme. As such, our intention is that new applications will now be submitted to the STM Malta Personal Retirement Plan.

The STM Malta Personal Retirement Plan is a QROPS operated from Malta and the Rules and Particulars are identical in form to the existing plan, so members of either plan can expect to receive benefits in exactly the same form.

As such, please note that all new applications produced going forward should be for the STM Malta Personal Retirement Plan. Having said that, applications for the STM Malta Retirement Plan will not be rejected for the time being as it is understood that you may still want to make use of the printed application forms for the STM Malta Retirement Plan.
